"DRAGONS, Between science and fiction"

DRAGONS, Between science and fiction.

Temporary exhibit from 5 April 2006 to 6 November 2006 at the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution - Jardin des plantes, 36 rue Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 75005 Paris, France

Strange and mysterious, the dragon has long been the subject of popular myth, of art and of scientific exploration. The exhibition explores our fascination with this mythical hybrid animal, the fire-breathing, flying, creeping monster of the sea, land and air that has been a symbol of power and chaos since the dawn of time. This voyage to the land of the dragon highlights the elements that all dragons share before exploring the symbolic function of the fantastical animal throughout time and across the world.
